Heer General peak visor cap for sale. This special style Heer General cap as worn by the Commander Of The Russian Army Liberation, Generalmajor Mikhail Meandrov. Heer General peak visor cap made from the finest, light field grey doeskin, with dark green cap-band. The visor cap with upper gold bullion piping, along with red wool pipings to the top and bottom of the capband. 

The General rank peak visor cap with mercuric gold-finished eagle & swastika, and matching special Russian oval cockade in gilt metal with red centre. The visor cap completed with the highest quality set of golden-wire capcords.

The Heer General peak visor cap is lined with a light beige silk, and has a light beige leather ventilated leather sweatband. To the centre the celluliod diamond complete with a name tag with the typed name, Generalmajor Mikail Meandrov. A seperate paper tag has been appfixed to the sweatband with the pencil name / designation 'Blacob'. Ink stamped to the lining  is the stamp of the Soviet 'Museum Of Northern Territories', along with another inventory stamp with the numbers '3  1590'.

Condition report: The General rank visor cap is for sale in overall very good condition, with an excellent shape. The light field-grey doeskin has some moth or insect tracks, particularly to the roof. These are to the nap, and have not created holes. The golden-wire piping with slight, age-related patina, similarly the mercuric-gilt insignia, and capcords.

The silk lining is clean, and the museum stamps remain clear. The ventilated leather sweatband shows just light service use. The celluliod diamond complete and undamaged.

Notes:  Mikail Meandrov fought with the Imperail Russian army, and then the Soviet Army. He was taken prisoner by the Germans during the fighting for Kiev, and agreed to join Andrey Vlasov's Russian Liberation Army, fighting with the Germans. Meandrov was given the rank of Generalmajor. He fought alongside the Germans from 1941 through to 1945 and was captured by the Soviet Army. He was executed in Moscow on 1st August 1946, along with Vlasov, and other high ranking officers of the Russian Liberation Army.

Provenance: Taken by the Soviet Army in 1945 on the capture of Meandrov. Later given to the Soviet Museum of Northern Territories. Disposed of after the fall of the Soviet system in 1989. Acquired for an important Austrian collection. Remaining in that collection from 1990 until acquired by the French collector, Pierre-Ange Caravano. One collection since. A file of copied information relating to Meandrov included in the sale.
